While I have never asked a guy out in person, I did a lot of online dating this year and I finally started initiating the emails. It gave me a sense of control over the whole situation.
Sometimes guys [like me] need an obvious sign that the girl is interested -- I can't think of any of my male friends who would not be open to having a girl ask them out -- and besides if someone has a problem with that they might also have a problem with the girl not being barefoot and pregnant, huh?
